There is plenty of day and overnight sailing to reach this corner of Britanny and making a grand entrance into this French Naval port is only the start. The inland sea Rade de Brest offers a chance to cross bowsprits with all sizes of vessel each day, and there is fireworks, live music and festivities ashore each evening.

Enjoy two incredible maritime festivals this summer. Join your wooden tall ship Anny during the festivities at Brest Festival of the Sea. Be ships crew and sail this topsail schooner in an Armada of several thousand sailing vessels as they head down the coast for Douarnenez Temp Fete 2020. Enjoy a few days in this medieval port with a unique French festival atmosphere. Relax on board watching the boats go by, and go out day sailing in the 8 mile wide Douarnenez Bay with 18th Century frigates, bisquines, luggers, Chinese junks and Arab dhows and all sorts of small boats. A photographers and artists dream holiday, plus an adventurous but less frenetic sail back across the Channel to Cornwall.
