Eda Frandsen has been having an action packed summer filled with wonderful weather, many new and secluded anchorages all over the outer Hebrides with trips out to St Kilda when there is time. The great weather we have been having has helped showcase the very best of what the west coast of Scotland has to offer!!!
What was you best bit of your voyage? All of it! Visiting the most amazing islands I never thought we would get to, amazing weather, fantastic food, great company. Feedback from Alison A, May 2018
Cornwall in Spring
As ever Eda started off her season exploring the coastline and rivers around Falmouth, her home for the winter. Stretching her legs and allowing all onboard to get into the rhythm of the summer season. With a new boom, built by the crew over the winter and a new top sail for the season she was ready to take on her busy summer.
Summer pilgrimage to Scotland
Eda's voyage north brought a group of individuals together who had never met each other and saw them sail her day and night to take her to her summer sailing home of Mallaig. They had some fantastic sailing with much of the time on a broad reach. While the temperature dropped as they headed south the landscapes became even more jaw dropping beautiful.
A Scottish Odyssey
On her arrival in Scotland Eda and her wonderful crew have had as a fun filled summer exploring the west coast of Scotland.
My wife and I have just enjoyed a fantastic 9 days on Eda Frandsen in the Hebrides with untypical Scottish weather; plenty of sun and very little wind! Okay, so we motored as much as sailed but the crew more than made up for any shortcomings in the weather with the variety of islands, caves, wildlife and Chloe's delicious food. Little James' Big, Big Bingo Game was a great success although even now, I am still looking for my last 2 squares :-( …We missed Storm Hector the following week and I was glad to hear that Hector didn't cause any problems; if anything, it sounds like you enjoyed playing with it….A beautiful boat with a great crew. Fantastic memories of a brilliant holiday. Extract from a Facebook review thanks to Terry C.
They have enjoyed secluded anchorages:
They have also visited St Kilda whenever there is time!!
And as ever all onboard have enjoyed Chloe's wonderful creations!!
Adventures to come!
Eda will continue to explore the outer Hebrides until late August when she will start heading home to Cornwall via a stop off in Oban. There is still one berth available to join her on her trip home to Cornwall!!
On her arrival back in Cornwall she be off to explore the best that the South west has to offer with week long trips the the Scillies or France. Then to finish off this wonderful summer she has two three day voyages planned. If you are looking for a late summer getaway and want to do it in style then this is a perfect opportunity. Also its a great way to see whether she is the boat for you to then look towards 2019 and sailing with her up in Scotland. A cruising ground which is a must for any sailor!!
