Health Statement for Europa sailing to Antarctica
A voyage is enjoyed fully when you feel strong, fit and comfortable onboard! Therefore, medical health and fitness are really important when sailing. Strength in your legs and arms are needed to be able to make your way on the ship even in rough weather. The deck has safety lines in place when required.
When we are many days away from the inhabited world, it is important to realize that extensive medical care is not available.
We take your health very seriously and because of the remoteness of our voyages we have to know your medical and fitness conditions to ensure yours and everyone’s safety.
65 and Over
Are you 65 years old or over at the time of booking? We kindly ask you to fill in the additional health statement that needs to be signed by your physician/general practitioner.
While booking a voyage, you can email the document to firstname.lastname@example.org
This health statement will be discussed by our ship's doctors to make a final decision, based on safety, fitness and health, together with the views of our captains and shipping office.
70 and Over
Sailors over the age of 70 that want to sail an ocean crossing or an Antarctica voyage with us, we ask to book a shorter coastal voyage first and to complete the Europa Health Statement pdf. This may not be required if you have sailed with Europa in the last three years. Our captains and or ships doctor will on this coastal voyage decide if the sailor can sail an ocean crossing or Antarctica voyage in remote areas.
All medical information is handled in strict confidentiality.
