RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory – On Line Course

World Class Course

This is a distance learning course you can buy on line from Classic Sailing. This is a world recognised course which teaches astro navigation (navigating by sun, stars and planets) and worldwide meteorology. How to avoid hurricanes, compass testing, principles and limitations of satellite navigation systems, routing charts, the mysteries of sextant adjustments and more.

You can learn to use a sextant and bring down the sun to the horizon at midday on many of our ocean going vessels but few crew or skippers have the time to go through all the calculations to give yourself a position.

Assumed pre course knowledge is the content in Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore Theory Syllabuses.
